The councilor of the Municipal Socialist Group in the city of Murcia, Susana Hernandez, today expressed his satisfaction that the city of Murcia is willing to regulate social clauses in public contracts with outside companies that perform.
"This is a claim that we have been raising for a long time, and finally the Popular Party seems to be sensitive to such clauses to incorporate the conditions established in municipal contracts."
Social clauses involve the inclusion criteria and / or special conditions of execution in the administrative specifications governing the process for awarding a public contract may be work, service or supply, with the objective social and / or environmental that each tender stated.
For example, criteria that include the hiring of people at risk of social exclusion, or over 45 years or victims of male violence.
Susana Hernandez has participated this morning in the meeting convened by the Councillor for Social, Conchita Ruiz, along with the other municipal groups, which has approved the creation of a working group to prepare a draft Ordinance on social clauses for Public Contracts City Council.
This technical team must present a proposed ordinance middle of next March, so it can be reviewed by local political groups before final approval by the full council.
The PSOE in the city of Murcia bet by the inclusion of such clauses, and collects requests to that effect would have raised various groups, such as social economy enterprises grouped in Ucomur (Union of Cooperatives of Murcia) or entities to combat poverty and social exclusion as Caritas.
