The Civil Guard dismantled 17 groups of graffiti on trains that caused damage amounting to over 2 million (30/12/2015)

The "WAGON" operation conducted over the past two years has resulted in the arrest of 59 persons involved in crimes of belonging to a criminal organization, damage and public disorder

Detainees vandalism performed by different parts of the Spanish geography, accumulating 400 complaints of these facts

The Civil Guard in the framework of the "WAGON" operation, developed over the past two years, has managed to dismantle 17 organized groups of graffiti on trains that caused damage amounting to over 2 million.

In the operation have been arrested in the cities of Paiporta, Barcelona and Castellon de la Plana 59 people, 4 of them children and aged between 16 and 33, of Spanish, Portuguese, Brazilian and Italian nationality, as alleged perpetrators of damage, public disorder and illegal criminal organization membership.

This operation has been able to clarify 400 illegal acts committed in the provinces of Valencia, Alicante, Castellón, Barcelona, ​​Tarragona, Cuenca, Madrid, Albacete, Soria and Murcia.

Since last January 2014, the Civil Guard of Valencia, had been investigating a series of vandalism, in which unknown authors performed graffiti on trains Ferrocarriles de la Generalitat Valenciana.

Therefore, the "WAGON" operation was launched by the Civil Guard in order to be able to identify, locate and apprehend the perpetrators of these acts.

They competed among different groups in committing vandalism

The result of investigations by the agents in charge of the case it was found that the detainees were members of 17 different groups and engaged on graffiti on trains different parts of Spanish territory.

These groups were competing among themselves and aimed to outperform other groups in committing vandalism.

These people came up videos to the net to show their "achievements".

To make these events using various methods, like pulling the safety lever to force the train to stop and was blocked with open and thus painting the cars doors.

We also had access to the hangars and workshops where trains parked to commit the crimes.

At other times, such as those in the Valencian towns of Masarrochos, Masias Moncada and Picassent built barricades with irons and sharp objects in order to make graffiti on both sides of the cars until the arrival of the agents.

The operation was carried out by the team of Judicial Police Command of the Civil Guard of Valencia.

The detainees have been available to a total of 50 trial courts in the provinces of Murcia, Alicante, Cuenca, Albacete, Barcelona and Valencia.

Investigations are still ongoing to fully clarify the facts.
