The new stretch of the North Coast of Murcia opened today to traffic improve circulation of over five million journeys per year (28/12/2015)

The Minister of Public Works and Infrastructures, Francisco Barnabas, and the mayor of Murcia, José Ballesta, today inaugurated the stretch of the North Coast of Murcia linking the RM-B1 road in the hamlet of Murcia La Nora and the RM-B3 with San Antonio Catholic University (UCAM), which, by acting as ring Nora, improves circulation of more than five million trips annually.

Barnabas explained that the journey Nora a circulation of 2,500 vehicles daily builds, to which more than 14,000 vehicles daily do so for a link to the RM-B3 are added.

Barnabas took a tour to supervise the work done along the branch opened today to traffic, which has a length of 772 meters, it has involved investment of 2,270,667 euros by the Ministry of Public Works and has been executed under the direction Urbamusa municipal company.

This section adds to the other sections already in operation on the North Coast, in the sum currently about 7 kilometers open to traffic, and that are running on a path of about 3.2 kilometers.

Once it completed the North Coast will have a total route of 13.3 kilometers, for which it has a budget of almost 35 million.

The head of the Ministry of Development said that this action is "an improved communications with other districts" as Guadalupe, and environmental developments, including El Porton Los Jeronimos and the Catholic University.

The new section starts on the road that leads to the town of La Nora, from the RM-B1 road, where it has built a roundabout that will connect the North Coast with La Nora and indirectly with RM and RM-B3 road -B1, which connect to other districts in the area.

This road continues the next leg of the North Coast which opened to traffic in May.

The road has been remodeled has two driveways two lanes of 3.50 meters wide, with exterior and interior hard shoulders of 0.50 meters, separated by a central landscaped and illuminated width of 2.50 meters.

It also has segregated bike lane two-way and sidewalk with trees.

Furthermore, the arrangement chosen for this stretch of road has been endowed with a very urban look, transforming it into a street with gardens and pedestrian areas, which serve as link between the districts of La Nora and Guadalupe, and is in the environment the university campus Ucam.

This action is part of the second phase of the North Coast, the execution "will comply with the deadlines," said the Minister Barnabas, which is expected to be fully in service in the first quarter of 2016. Thus, is expected in the first months of next year have been opened to traffic four of the missing sections of the North Coast.
