The commissioning of a new stretch of the North Coast will reduce traffic Nora and improve its connection with other districts and neighborhoods of the environment (28/12/2015)

The Mayor and the Minister of Public Works today inaugurated the new road, which has two lanes, bicycle lanes and sidewalks, plus gardens with biosaludables circuits.

In the first quarter of 2016 will open to traffic in the 4 sections currently works for the North Coast and 3 of the South Coast, with the second phase of these structural axes will be completed.

The construction of the second phase of the North Coast is carried out in compliance with the deadlines, so that while it is entirely in service in the first quarter of 2016, this morning has brought forward the opening of a new section, namely connecting the RM-B1 road in La Nora and the RM-B3 road next to the San Antonio Catholic University, with a length of 772 meters and with an investment of 2.2 million euros.

The road begins at the driveway to the town of La Nora RM-B1-from the road where a roundabout is designed to serve as a shortcut between the North Coast and this hamlet and, indirectly, to a connection with roads regional RM-RM-B1 and B3 serving communication with other towns in the area.

In this roundabout also it has projected an existing access road which serves several houses.

The section continues from this roundabout until a new roundabout including the North Coast next branch, which gives access to the villages, and the Ucam Guadalupe and opened to traffic in May.

The works have now completed have included the construction of a dual carriageway, two lanes in each direction separated by a landscaped center median.

It has also segregated bike lane in both directions and sidewalk with trees in alignment.

All in the north of the road that is closest to the population centers.

This stretch of Coast ring acts as Nora, allowing vehicles to divert traffic from downtown streets of the village and improve the flow of traffic and road safety both pedestrians and vehicles.

With this arrangement we have tried to give it a very urban look, transforming it into a city street consolidated with gardens, which are installed circuits bio-healthy, and pedestrian, as it will serve as link between the districts of La Nora and Guadalupe, and also is in the vicinity of the future campus of the Catholic University of San Antonio so expected a large pedestrian traffic.

In this way, we try to pedestrian continuity to the different areas that connect the North Coast, especially in this section that serves as a link between the districts of Guadalupe and La Nora, along with urbanization, already consolidated, of The Gate of The Jeronimos and the Catholic University San Antonio.

Seven new sections in February

In February 2016 will have completed implementation of Phase II of the structural axes North Coast and South Coast, with the pending opening of 4 sections of the first and three in the second, although in some of them is now open to traffic partially.

The work, funded by the Autonomous Community are carried out under the direction and the draft prepared by Urbamusa.

Although initially the agreement amounted to EUR 100 million, subsequently reduced to almost 66 million, of which about 40 million are already performed a first phase and in operation since 2009 that included the Alternative Sangonera la Verde, Coastal sections North from Juan Carlos I and Juan de Borbon and South Coast stretches between La Alberca and Algezares.

The rest belongs to the ten currently running sections which constitute the second phase.

Both roads have the capacity to absorb 80,000 vehicles a day and allow traffic definitely take the urban centers of 15 districts, between San Gines and Algezares -11.3 kilometers in length and from Javalí Old El Esparragal -13.3 miles-thus improving quality of life for its 113,000 inhabitants, easing traffic existing roads and inland populations.
