The Local Security Council gives voice to social organizations (17/12/2015)

The Local Board today approved its creation, within the policy of greater public participation and transparency in public administrations.

Civic associations, business, labor organizations and others advise the City Council to design appropriate measures to prevent situations that might endanger all citizens to security policies.

The policy of greater public participation and transparency in public administrations also reflected in security.

The first meeting of the Local Board, chaired by the Mayor, José Ballesta, and the Chief Minister, Antonio Sanchez-Solis, principal agreement has been adopted as the constitution of the Local Security Council, whose main objective is to promote and advance necessary cooperation and coordination, not only between the various authorities, but with all social organizations.

Composed of representatives of civic associations, business and labor organizations and other institutions or sectors that make up the social fabric of Murcia, the new council's functions include advising the City Council in designing appropriate security policies and monitor those facets that can disrupt peaceful coexistence, as xenophobia, violence, school violence and crime assessment, to try to prevent situations that could jeopardize the whole of the citizens.

It will be chaired by the Mayor and the Government Delegate, and will be part, along with all the members of the Local Security Board: Councillor for Traffic Safety and Civil Protection, Lola Sanchez, the Minister of Presidency, Maria Dolores Pagan, the Chief inspector of the local police, Angel Marin, Deputy Inspector Jose Maria Mainar, Colonel Chief of the Civil Guard, José Ortega, the Supreme Head of the National Police, Duran Cirilo, and Deputy Secretary General of the Government Office, Araceli Urrea.

They are joined in the Local Security Council representatives from all local groups, the judiciary -the Senior Judge and a member of the DPP TSJ-, department heads Fire and Civil Protection and technicians of municipal areas Employment, Tourism and Culture, and Sports and Health.

Also, representatives of the Federation of Neighborhood Associations in the Municipality of Murcia, the regional federations of Hospitality and Tourism and Trade will be incorporated, along with the representatives of the municipality, of the two major unions, the Federation of AMPAS and festive organizations (Peñas vegetable garden, Group Sardinera and Moors and Christians).

Moreover, the councilman of Traffic Safety and Civil Protection, Lola Sanchez, has exposed members of the local board the special plan designed in order to increase security and normal life of society during Christmas.
