Unit Scientific Culture and Promotion of Research at the University of Murcia (UCC-Prinum) today presented the prizes of the poster competition VIII and VII scientific photojournalism contest, both with a first prize of 500 euros and a second prize of 250.
Photojournalism Award was awarded to Julio Alberto Bernal Valero for the work "The flower and water", while the second prize was for Patricia Garcia Morcillo's picture named "In the eye of the volcano."
In the poster competition, dedicated to the International Year of Light, it has been awarded a second prize to Julia Rubio Buendia, being deserted in this edition the first prize.
The jury of the UCC-Prinum coordinator, Professor Rosa Maria Ros, and other teachers of the University, praised the work of the adequacy of the proposed theme, technique and artistic quality, originality and the informative nature of the same.
The ceremony, which took place in the Rector Soler building on the campus of Espinardo, was chaired by the Vice Chancellor for Research, Juan Antonio Garcia;
Vice President for Communication, Culture and Sport, Monica Perez Morales Galdana and Research Coordinator, Emma Martinez.
Both contests have the financing of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology, Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness.
