Social Rights has earmarked more than 16 million euros for the fight against poverty, social exclusion and equal opportunities (15/12/2015)

The area leads the council Conchita Ruiz Caballero will have 16 million euros, almost 6 percent more than last year.

The Department of Social Rights of the City of Murcia go next year 2016, a total of 16 million euros to fight poverty and social exclusion, and serve and care for the most vulnerable groups.

"From Social Rights we will act at all levels and from all possible angles the serious problem of social exclusion in all its manifestations," he assured.

By areas, Social Services increased by 7.14 percent compared to the 2015 budget to reach 6,137,032 euros, to maintain and strengthen preventive programs for children and adolescents who will allocate a total of 1,156,000 euros;

2,582,200 euros to support families and 2,550,000 euros in economic aid to the Social Emergency care;

1,547,500 euros will be invested in the care of homeless and immigrants.

Precisely in this paragraph, the intervention program with youth and adolescents in situations of social risk, which will benefit 600 young people of the town, from the age of 13, and that will have a budget of 200,000 euros is launched .

It is also provided for the development of a municipal program for promotion or training of volunteers and establishing forms of support and collaboration with institutions in the municipality volunteerism and the creation of the Municipal Volunteer Office to coordinate all these performances, for which 85,000 euros will be allocated.

An agreement with the Food Bank of Segura, with 20,000 euros to support its management, and one with ACCEM, 10,000 euros will also be established to support the care of the refugees who are admitted to our town, while they access to all the resources or benefits that could correspond to them or require as part of the public social services network itself guarantees.

These grants are in addition to those already established with the various entities providing services in our town for the care and reception of groups with greater social needs such as Jesus Forsaken, Rais Foundation, Caritas, Emmaus, Habit Association;

Cepaim, Gypsy Secretariat Foundation, Columbares, Murcia NERI Association;

Welcomes Murcia, Rasinet, and Manuel Maria Vicuña Foundation, for which the city of Murcia has allocated an amount of 1,547,500 euros.

The council has stressed that the budget increase for Childhood and Adolescence programs enables "strengthening and maintenance of existing activities and projects are activities Children, Schools Summer Socio Reinforcement, Occupational Classrooms, intervention in situations of vulnerability Children, cyber-classrooms, helps support schooling and prevention and intervention on truancy ".

He also explained that it is intended to improve the system of Appointment in Social Work Units, offering appointment via the web, thus complementing the current mode via telephone.

To do this will be allocated 40,000 euros and 165,000 euros will be allocated for the refurbishment of facilities and equipment for Customer Service.

Meanwhile, Social Welfare to 10,043,700 euros, representing an increase of 5.20 percent over the current year, for the care for the elderly, disabled, women and families in situations of exclusion will be invested social.

The planned measures to develop cover four main areas: care for 7,000 elderly and dependent (7,500,000);

care for 13,000 people with disabilities and their families, and universal accessibility (300,000 euros);

maintenance and improvement of the Municipal Network of Senior Centers, 35,000 people (2.9 million euros);

equality policies and Attention to Domestic Violence for 15,000 people (400,000 euros), as well as social support, Training and Family Conciliation, benefiting 1,800 people (700,000 euros).

The momentum of the Office for Disability will, among other actions, the addition of a new service by mobile phone, to "improve the quality of life of deaf people with communication problems";

the launch of a volunteer project in the Social Centres for the Elderly;

and the creation of a new Center for Reconciliation, located in El Palmar, are the main developments planned in this area.

The Social Welfare budget allows the city of Murcia consolidation of home help programs, family relief, meals on wheels, Telecare, Day Care Centers and Coexistence Between Generations.
