The University of Murcia (UMU) and the Polytechnic University of Cartagena (UPCT) signed today with union representatives the preliminary agreement of the second collective agreement for teaching and research staff (PDI) contracted, affecting over and a half thousand workers.
The text, which was signed in the building of convalescence, home of the Rector of the University of Murcia, will now be submitted to the governing councils of both universities before referral to the Autonomous Community of Murcia.
The draft agreement includes its validity shall extend from the January 1, 2016 until January 31, 2020, collected in the same shall apply to personnel hired in accordance with the procedures laid down in the Universities Act and the Statute of the and workers who are hired to work or service determined investigator character.

Attention to the remuneration system and the plan of equality between women and men is also provided, listing the guiding principles thereof, as well as the protection of motherhood and breastfeeding and training in prevention of occupational hazards.
The agreement was signed by representatives of both public universities and the CCOO, FETE-UGT, CSI-F and SIME unions, in the presence of the rectors of the University of Murcia, José Orihuela, and UPCT Jose Antonio Franco .
