In class with the Mayor (03/12/2015)

Students in sixth grade and choir members CEIP San Pablo de Murcia have this morning attended a class taught by the Mayor, José Ballesta, on the Spanish Constitution.

After the official ceremony held at the Regional Archives finishing has been moved to this school to enjoy another way to commemorate the upcoming anniversary of the Constitution.

For nearly an hour, and taking as its starting point the sport, the Mayor has been explaining the main values ​​of a Constitution which has highlighted two fundamental principles: "Despite all be very different, the Constitution makes us free and equal "and it establishes that sovereignty resides in the Spanish people.

Ballesta has not been limited to explain some fundamental values ​​of democracy and the importance of the figure of the Head of State, but has also accompanied his speech with some elements that led to the meeting with the children, who have hailed and applauded to discover: T-shirts Spanish football and basketball, a flag of Spain (obtained in the last celebration of Columbus Day) and even some photographs of his meetings with King Juan Carlos I and Felipe.

Then it is time the conversation with students who have taken the opportunity to ask all sorts of questions.

Some, related to the 1978 Constitution ("What is the most important thing is?"), Others with their responsibility as Mayor ("Why has wanted to hold this position? Are you afraid to make bad decisions ever? criticasen you mind that? "), with the situation of Murcia (" Can it happen here has the same problems as pollution Madrid? ") or personal (" Profession? Age? ").

In the end, the meeting ended with the interpretation of a carol by the school choir, composed of students from 3rd to 6th grade.
