Hispania Nostra Association, an institution renowned for its commitment to the conservation and restoration of cultural heritage, today accepted the proposal of the Mayor, José Ballesta, to participate in the project to restore the site of St. Stephen and endorse that takes out parameters necessary rigor and excellence.
Ballesta had a meeting this morning in Madrid with the president of the organization, Araceli Pereda, who has confirmed the incorporation of Hispania Nostra association as supervisor of works, within the plan of participation and transparency that accompanies this strategic project for the city .
The company, which has an extensive national and international recognition, meet next year, four decades of service to heritage conservation, its defense, preservation and enhancement, and is Honorary President of the Queen.
In his defense of cultural heritage develops numerous programs, among which the annual meetings of associations and organizations related to the cultural heritage, support for other associations in this field, the organization of conferences, thematic cycles, workshops and debates on matters related with good practice and all its aims and publications as the magazine Hispania Nostra and Cultural Heritage and Law.
It grants Hispania Nostra Awards for Best Practices in conservation and restoration of cultural and natural heritage since 2012 and manages applications in the Spanish European Union Prize for Cultural Heritage / Europa Nostra.
After the first contact held this morning with the president of the Hispania Nostra Association, it is scheduled to hold further contacts with other prestigious institutions in the defense of cultural heritage to invite them to participate in monitoring and advising the project to restore the site of St. Stephen .
