The Mayor, José Ballesta, announced that the City will join the program "Child Friendly Cities", with which UNICEF Spain aims to boost and promote the implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child in the field of local authorities .
As he stated this morning, following the meeting held with representatives of the organization, including Francisco Artés Calero, president of the Committee of Murcia, and Gustavo Suarez Pertierra, patron of UNICEF Spanish Committee.
This network encompasses municipalities of cities committed to working in a coordinated and stable for children and adolescents from a rights perspective and promoting awareness of the Convention on the Rights of the Child adopted in 1989.
UNICEF is present in over 190 countries, including Spain, where he arrived in 1954 to improve the living conditions of children.
Currently more than 1,240 volunteers-people-87% up the team UNICEF Spanish Committee, which has 303,283 members.
