The Mayor, José Ballesta, today received in his office the new president of the Network of Cities for the Bicycle, Antonio Poveda, after the election last month the Metropolitan Area of ​​Barcelona to head the company, succeeding Murcia, which has held that responsibility for the past four years.

Poveda is vice president of the WBA and Mayor of Sant Joan Despi.

The association, created in 2009, has among its objectives facilitate, and develop safer movement of cyclists, particularly in urban areas.

Currently it has nearly 70 partners, representing more than 150 Spanish cities.
