Murcia's change dismissed as "electioneering" autonomic law protection of animals (10/11/2015)

Murcia's change Councilwoman Margarita Guerrero has branded the president's announcement of the autonomous region, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, on the development of a regional law today "electioneering" to ensure "zero sacrifice 'of animals in the region of Murcia.

A Guerrero finds it "paradoxical" that for 20 years the PP has not worried about reforming the regional animal protection standard and now, "suspiciously" and just over a month before the general elections, "will enter the rush."

As an example of "indifference" of the PP to protect the animals, the mayor pointed out that "the first performance in Murcia Sanchez as head of the regional government was to attend the inauguration of the Bullfight".

Regarding the Bureau of Animal Welfare of the City of Murcia, Guerrero says his fight training because it is a real space to gather concrete, realistic, featuring budget and aimed at guaranteeing the 'zero sacrifice' measures.

"We do not worth this Mesa remain a mere declaration of intent of the ad policy, it is time to respond to citizen demands and start making committed and effective policies with all sectors of society".

Councillor also referred to the "plight" of the Municipal Center of Zoonosis of Murcia, where about 1,500 animals are killed each year, and the lack of measures to guarantee the rights of animals in the bylaw.

Finally, he explained to change Murcia, following its commitment to animal welfare, constituted yesterday a sector group this field coordinated by Toni Gomez, who will link with the Coordinator, and intends to be a meeting place between different groups pursuing the same goal.
