The University of Murcia announces the call for aid to the study, which involves the grant of a total of 135,000 euros to 424 students of the same.
In particular, beneficiaries are students who, for special or supervening circumstances, could not enjoy scholarship or study aid during 2014-2015 with the budgets of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, so they were put at risk of having to abandon their careers in the absence of the necessary resources.
This time they have been applied criteria in progressive award amount of aid so that are covered further aid requested by students who had higher scores on the scale.
In addition, this has a marked social character, since having a low income and reside outside the family home accounted for sixty percent of the scale, taking into account other special circumstances, such as disability or be victims of domestic violence or caregiver of dependents.
The total amount of the call, as indicated by the Vice President for Students, Quality and Equality, headed by Professor Miguel Angel Perez, 100,000 euros are provided by the Directorate General of Universities, and the remaining 35,000 euros, from the University of Murcia .
These indirect complement direct aid delivered last year to 75 students that the University maintained the same level of tuition fees because, due to supervening causes, failed the exam or had affected their academic performance.
This collaboration led to the beneficiaries save 46,300 euros, the University of Murcia took its own funds.
