Murcia leads the advancement in intelligent buildings within the European project'Hojas map for energía' (08/11/2015)

The Department of Administration Modernization, Urban Quality and Participation, headed Jose Guillen, is strongly committed to the 'roadmaps for energy' project and is aware that teaching and learning at European level is key to complement and enhance the Municipal innovation.

Under this premise, Murcianos technicians have participated in the first major event of communication and dissemination of the "Roadmaps for energy" (Roadmaps for Energy) project in which the city of Murcia highlighted the importance of citizen participation and social groups to undertake projects with guaranteed success and useful for improving quality of life in our cities.

Apart from Murcia, the event had representation from other member cities of the project: Newcastle, Tallinn, Palermo, Forli, Eindhoven, Sant Cugat and the Technical University of Eindhoven and the Polytechnic University of Catalonia.

The meeting served to participating cities could perform about sharing ideas, needs and solutions to enhance the development of smart buildings and smart mobility.

With the synergies arising within the project and thanks to the continuous learning process followed, the city of Murcia, has begun to establish the lines of action on which to work in the medium and long term to enhance its role as Smart City at European level in the field of intelligent buildings and smart mobility.

These lines of action have also born fruit of the work of participatory workshops held in early October in Murcia, in collaboration with relevant social agents in both areas were asked to help select innovative, integrative proposals and the citizen is the protagonist.

Innovation at the service of people

"Murcia has much to teach and share with other European cities.

In this process of mutual learning, cities have agreed that, currently, citizens demand integrated solutions that improve their daily lives, and to enable it to be more efficient with less, "said Guillen.

Now, the next step will be to turn these new strategic lines of action emerged at this point the project into tangible, achievable, well-defined and integrated into the strategy of the city of Murcia as Smart City performances.
