Cambiemo spide review the degree of compliance with the obligations of the UCAM in agreement with the City (06/11/2015)

Murcia Councilman's change Nacho Tornel has urged today to the Municipal Corporation to review the degree of compliance with the obligations contracted with the City UCAM under the agreement signed between them in 2005, and has won this year.

In an internal communication to the mayor, Tornel has requested an assessment of whether the Catholic school has complied with the terms of that agreement, especially those concerning the payment of 2.3 million euros in return for the transfer and use of municipal land , and scholarships to students.

In the event that the Corporation decides to sign a new agreement with the UCAM, Tornel has indicated that its conditions "could not be anywhere near the same as before."

The agreement, which Murcia's change Councilman has called "leonine" contemplated the free transfer of 135,000 square meters Catholic center with the obligation, among others, it would allow the council to use the sports facilities to be built in this field.

It is a transfer of public land for 10 years that allowed the private university build facilities designed for much longer.

Therefore, "it is a covert assignment without limit," he argued.

In this regard, he recalled that a subsequent agreement allows the use of sports facilities federated teams pupils UCAM until 2019.

According Tornel, the agreement between the municipality and the UCAM is "an example of management in the face of private interest from the Glorieta and submission of public servants to the powers of the Region of Murcia".
