"The UCAM commitment to new technologies and at the service of sport" (05/11/2015)

The Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM) has welcomed a new 'workshop' (workshop) ESTPORT the European project led to transfer its athletes tutoring model to other universities in Europe.

This workshop, entitled "Dual career: New technologies in the dual career 'takes place in parallel in the other participating universities: University Foro Italico in Rome (Italy), University of Thessaly (Greece), University of Malta and Leeds Trinity University (United Kingdom).

Subsequently the experiences of each workshop will be shared to add brews manual being developed.

At the opening of the conference participated: Estrella Nunez, rector of the UCAM Research;

Alonso Gómez López, CEO of Sports in the Region of Murcia;

Pato and Antonio Sánchez, dean of the Faculty of Sport of the UCAM.

Pato Sanchez stressed the importance of exploiting the possibilities with advancing technology to help athletes in their studies. "We will work on the role of new technologies in the model of the UCAM will review platforms, the campus virtual and new tools that offer student athletes so that they can form and for coaches, teachers and guardians to participate in sports training. The UCAM commitment to new technologies and at the service of sport ".

Gomez Lopez highlighted the work done for years in college and that is already a reference outside our borders, "I want to congratulate the UCAM by these events and for their work in facilitating athletes training while training and competing. This model has made them a national and international reference. "

During the conference participated athletes, teachers, sports coaches and tutors, who have shared experiences on dual career.

Participants included, among others, Paul Rosique, general manager of the UCAM Sports;

Jose Antonio Carrillo coach UCAM Athleo of Cieza and coach Miguel Angel Lopez walker;

Iulia Necula, player of the UCAM Cartagena Table Tennis and graduated in Tourism from the UCAM;

or Angel Robles, UCAM Murcia CF captain and student of Science Degree in Physical Activity and Sport.
