Experts debate at the University of Murcia on the challenges of water law (05/11/2015)

The University of Murcia held today and tomorrow in the auditorium of the Merced campus of an international conference which will explore the challenges of water law from a legal, economic and environmental perspective.

Organized by the University Institute of Water and Environment (INUAMA) of the University of Murcia, this conference brings together more than two hundred specialists and professors of Spanish and foreign universities, which makes it, in the words of its director, professor Administrative Law Teresa Navarro, a "discussion forum and meeting of reference".

This day, explained the director during the opening ceremony, will approach the current state of water planning, water to extreme situations such as floods and droughts and the problems of groundwater.

Today will also address the issue of water economy and other environmental issues, while the morning session will be devoted to the Tajo-Segura water and markets, among other subjects.

The inauguration has been in charge of general secretary of the University, also a professor of Administrative Law Santiago Alvarez;

Councillor for Culture of the Municipality of Murcia, Rafael Gomez, Navarro and professor.

The Congress is sponsored by Hidrogea, Aguas de Murcia, Cajamurcia Foundation, Central Union of Irrigation Aqueduct Tajo-Segura, CROEM, Proexport, Segura basin, Seneca Foundation, Murcia Bar Association, and Fecoam.
