Residents of the Rosales are the stars of the plan for urban and social rehabilitation that runs in his neighborhood (03/11/2015)

The project does not end up in the rehabilitation of infrastructure and housing, budgeted at 1.3 million euros.

A key part of the plan of actions aimed at promoting employment, social and educational integration actions and where its inhabitants have been involved with the support of five associations involved in the social project, which aims to improve living conditions of people.

When completed that are currently running in Los Rosales, not only emerge a new neighborhood, restored and regenerated in its infrastructure and housing.

There is also produced a renewal of the social fabric and a clear improvement in the lives of their neighbors.

Because the project promoted by the City Council, with the collaboration of other public administrations and associations working in the social field, paying particular attention to solving problems of social exclusion, either gender, culture, ethnic or economic.

The involvement of citizens is one of the key points in the process, which has as basic lines with actions aimed at promoting employment, the establishment of a condominium, social and educational activities and neighborhood participation and promoting coexistence.

The project of social intervention has had a budget of 125,000 euros.

The Mayor, José Ballesta, this morning visited the neighborhood, where he held a meeting with representatives of the associations involved in the social project: Cepaim which intervenes in employment-promotion efforts, Rasinet -in charge of informing and advice for the constitution of communities of owners and the approval of its statutes and rules of coexistence-, the socio-responsible actions, including workshops DIY Copedeco family- and health, Gypsy Secretariat -impulsora of shares local participation and promotion of Columbares -Coordinator coexistence- and general intervention and mediation with the City and contractor-works.

Ballesta, who was accompanied by Council of Social Rights and Housing, Conchita Ruiz and Rafael Gómez, respectively, stressed the importance of such actions, "acting on the physical environment, can improve the lives of people a way not only material, but to influence the relations of coexistence, training for employment and respect for our environment. "

"The City Council want and intend to reform neighborhoods, building plazas and recover spaces for the enjoyment of residents, but above all, we are committed to people.

Employment in the neighborhood

Rosales being a neighborhood with a high unemployment rate, the plan for urban regeneration and social measures has necessarily to training for the employability of the unemployed.

In this case, with the collaboration of Cepaim, they have launched three types of actions:

This workshop has been offered by the CEPAIM Foundation and attended by 14 people, whom the Mayor has delivered this morning their diplomas.

It has commissioned Rasinet through visits to all owners and tenants of buildings affected by the works.

Also, the social project was based on socio actions aimed at encouraging the participation of residents in neighborhood improvement, seeking their involvement in the maintenance of common areas and their homes.

The performances of local participation and the promotion of coexistence represent the fourth line of intervention, in this case, aimed at improving the coexistence in the district by encouraging participation through the creation of meeting spaces and encouraging neighbors to take the lead .

- Meeting spaces called "Neighborhood Cafe", where the involvement of the neighbors has led to the awareness of issues they consider relevant and may affect the welfare and living neighborhood.

- There has been a workshop of history and future of the neighborhood, making a photographic monitoring with the before and after rehabilitation.

This social action plan is part of the ambitious plan of urban regeneration and renewal of Los Rosales, including the improvement of 379 homes distributed in 14 blocks and urban spaces, and has a budget of 1.3 million euros.

The project has the support of the Ministry of Development, which finances 35% of the coastal and the Autonomous Community -Provides 9.1% -.

The Governing Board approved last July Padelsa awarded to the project by Urbamusa, with a lead time of seven months.
