The University of Murcia (UMU) today celebrated the 30th anniversary of his service Research Support (SAI) a day which met at the headquarters of Cajamar more than a hundred high school students.
During the ceremony, who chaired the rector of the University, José Orihuela, it explained that the UPS has developed in these thirty years a portfolio of more than 300 technical services, as well as large infrastructures and scientific equipment necessary for researchers UMU, but also for other public institutions and companies.
To commemorate this anniversary, according to detailed Service chief, Maria Teresa Castells, has been installed in the building Cajamar (Plaza de Julian Romea, Murcia) an exhibition that shows the evolution of the UPS and in which recreates the sensations by scientists.
In addition, throughout the year open days UPS buildings, aimed at all citizens, and guided tours for high school students and vocational training will be scheduled visits doors.
For today's session was organized a roundtable on the future of research headquarters with the participation of Vice President for Research, Juan Antonio Garcia and teachers Luis Puelles, Santiago Torres and Alberto Requena and the conferences to by the disseminator and professor Jose Manuel Lopez Nicholas and Dr. Ortiz Roque Gonzalez.
The Vice Chancellor for Research, Antonio Juan Garcia, who has in his speech a tour of the thirty years of the UPS, has highlighted the skills and commitment of the staff that makes up this service, which optimizes all resources allocated by the University the investigation.
The rector, José Orihuela, has he closed the ceremony reaffirming its commitment to research and encouraging more young people to approach the UPS to know the "flavor and meaning" of it, which is "making a better society," he saying.
