Now Murcia, "the PP announces the recovery of San Esteban without two thirds of the budget secured" (23/10/2015)

MURCIA NOW claims that the project of rehabilitation of the site of San Esteban and his entourage, announced today by the PP, has only a third of secured financing.

"A cost of 15 million euros is expected, but only the City Council has pledged to put an amount, 5 million," the mayor Angeles Micol.

The councilor stressed that before announcing a project of this size and importance "responsible thing would be to have secured full funding and participation of the Ministry of Culture would be necessary" which, as acknowledged yesterday Ballesta, is not assured.

"In fact," says Micol, "it is impossible that the participation of Madrid is guaranteed, as is the decision of a government that does not yet exist."

The mayor points out that it is precisely the general election in two months that motivate this "precipitate and irresponsible electioneering by the PP, which seeks out in the media without having secured funding announcement."

Now Murcia notes that the PP bylaws provide 18 million less income, but instead is announcing big projects like this one from San Esteban (5 million) and the Old Jail (2.5 million), which will announce in a few days .

"So the cuts will make the PP which always: in social policies" anticipates Micol.

The municipal formation also requires the participation and advice of different groups "is finally a reality in this project, as in other actions and the Citizen Council has left people out."

Micol finally asks to begin the works at the site "to ensure their conservation, replacing the broken geotextile, fixing the pumps and removing weeds and roots of tree species that can cause damage in the field."
