Multilingual Commemoration of United Nations Day (21/10/2015)

The commemoration of the 70th anniversary of the United Nations held a special form at City Hall, where the role of the date has been on children.

The Mayor, José Ballesta, presided over the official ceremony in the Plenary Hall, where 12 students from IES Graduate Cascales have read in eleven languages ​​twelve articles of the Declaration of Human Rights.

The City Council has thus joined the initiative of the United Nations Association of Spain (UNA-Spain) and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation to disseminate the values ​​and knowledge of this institution, which this year celebrates its 70th anniversary.

The Universal Declaration of Human Rights was adopted by the UN Assembly in 1948 as a commitment by the international community not allow it to happen more atrocities like those of the two world wars of the early twentieth century again, complementing how the United Nations Charter with a road map to guarantee the rights of all people everywhere and at all times.

One hundred students from IES Cascales wanted to celebrate the anniversary of the UN support to peace, development and human rights with the reading of Articles 1, in Spanish;

and 30 in Spanish.
