A Chair to identify and develop talent (20/10/2015)

The Catholic University of Murcia and Telefonica presented this morning the activities planned by the Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the digital age.

The ceremony involved Estrella Nunez, rector of the UCAM Research;

José Manuel del Arco, director of Telefónica Major Customers for Murcia, Balearic Islands and Valencia;

the director of the Chair, José Carmona, and the Dean of Engineering Degree in Telecommunications Systems, Rafael Melendreras.

In an environment in which the economy and relations paradigms are changing, and the digital knowledge is a cornerstone, said Arch, "this Chair seeks talent identification and development" and that "the current activity, whether it related to health, education, mobility or economic and social, has a distinctly digital content. "

Among the scheduled events are lectures on topics such as cities or smarts combined data centers;

internship programs, specialized training and scholarships;

entrepreneurship workshops, and visits to leading facilities sector.

Personal Innovation

José Miguel de las Bayonas, businessman and president of the Association of Young Entrepreneurs of the Region of Murcia has given the keynote address in which he highlighted the role of innovation beyond the technological field.

"It appears that innovation is more focused on the world of the start up technology, but it is not, innovation not only requires that change in technology used by the company, but one can innovate by changing the channel which sells its products in a product or in the way we communicate, "he assured.
