Mercamurcia will implement various measures to curb climate change (14/10/2015)

The Councillor for Institutional Relations and Trade, Maruja Pelegrin, this morning visited the facilities of Mercamurcia to see first hand the needs of Logistics Distribution Center Agrifood largest Southeast Spain.

In addition, those responsible for Mercamurcia explained to the mayor's accession to the campaign "A million climate commitments', promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment as Spanish contribution to the Climate Summit to be held in Paris next December.

So Mercamurcia is committed to promoting the use of LED lighting gradually, using presence detection in passageways systems, separation and recycling with an awareness campaign, training and investment in Green Point, collaboration with local suppliers, the use of efficient irrigation systems and establish a protocol for lighting, as sunshine and use, among others.

The general policy of environmental management Mercamurcia makes it completely integrates its activities with the overall management sustainable and respectful with the environment by minimizing the impact on it in this objective and involving all companies operating throughout the logistics center agrifood.

Environmental practices allow maximum recovery of waste generated in its various activities, the least environmental impact in CO2 emissions into the atmosphere and use of the products generated in agricultural activities like composting.
