The Robles Chillida Foundation awards grants for research at the University of Murcia in the area of ​​health (14/10/2015)

The Chillida Foundation Robles held today in Caravaca the ceremony of granting aid to finance research at the University of Murcia in the field of Health Sciences.

For the third consecutive year, the Foundation, which is named after Elijah Manuel Robles pharmacist caravaqueño Chillida, is co-financing the completion of two research projects, one of international mobility and two awards for doctoral theses.

In this edition, have been awarded grants to projects "comparative use of two sources of mesenchymal cells for the treatment of osteonecrosis of the jaw" and "Identification of new markers of adverse cardiac remodeling and ventricular arrhythmia in predicting sudden death after acute myocardial infarction, "whose principal investigators are Ricardo Sanchez and Domingo Elias Onate Figal Andrés Pascual, respectively.

Each project will receive $ 10,000 for development of Chillida Robles Foundation, while the University of Murcia will contribute another 10,000 euros.

In the category of awards, PhD "Intercommunication between the synchronizers and the human circadian system," Antonio Martinez Nicholas, thesis won first prize, worth 3,000 euros.

The second prize of 2,000 euros was for the thesis "Advances in knowledge of chromogranin A and other salivary biomarkers of stress in pigs," Damien Escribano Tortosa.

Finally, the researcher Antonio García Gázquez received 4,000 euros in Germany to develop the "Influence of placental lipid transport in the fetal programming of obesity" project.

On their behalf, the delivery has been made to the project director, Professor Elvira Larqué, for being him in Munich.

The mayor of Caravaca, José Moreno, has offered this morning a reception at City Hall investigators beneficiaries, who were accompanied by a delegation from the University of Murcia, spearheaded by its president, Jose Orihuela-and the Board of Trustees chaired by Amador Lopez.

Later, they have moved to the sacristy of the old church of the Jesuits of the town, which was held the ceremony, ceremony in which the president Orihuela has praised the assistance that Robles Chillida Foundation paid to research and college.

The ceremony also involved the Director General of Universities and Research, Luis Javier Lozano -on behalf of the Minister of Education-and the Vice Chancellor for Research at the University of Murcia, Juan Antonio Garcia.
