The Mayor presides over the ceremony vow renewal City of the Virgen del Rosario 2015 (07/10/2015)

The Mayor, José Ballesta, presided this afternoon the municipal delegation which took part in the Holy Eucharist in which the City Council renewed annually Voting City of the Virgen del Rosario.

Alongside Ballesta, they attended the ceremony councilors Roque Ortiz, Conchita Ruiz, Felipe Coello, Maria Dolores Sanchez, Rebeca Perez and Rafael Gomez.

This is a remote tradition recovered by the Confraternity of Our Lady of the Rosary of Murcia and the city, which is staged in the Conventual Church of Anas.

The tradition disappeared for decades, recalls the vow that the City Council of Murcia did in perpetuity to the Virgin of the Rosary in thanksgiving for the goods received to get rid of a terrible epidemic in 1677.
