Two exhibits tracing the history of the University of Murcia from Alfonso X the Wise (07/10/2015)

Two exhibitions were presented today at the Cultural Center and the Las Claras Graduate Institute Cascales make a journey through the history of the University of Murcia since its first foundation in the days of King Alfonso X the Wise (s. XIII) .

The cultural center of the Cajamurcia Foundation has hosted the presentation of the sample on "Teachers, students and knowledge" can be viewed from the 6 November until January 7, 2016 and which acts as curator Professor of History Art Cristobal Belda.

Belda explained that this exhibition, which will feature more than eighty works of incalculable value, will tour the origins and evolution of higher education in Murcia to the creation, in 1915, its fourth foundation, on which sat the foundations of today's college.

The professor pointed out, moreover, that already in the Games, compiled by James Laws, are present which are the three pillars of the sample: the teacher teaching, the student who receives this teaching and know that transmitted from one to another.

This event also involved the manager of the Foundation Cajamurcia, Pascual Martinez, and the rector of the University of Murcia, José Orihuela, highlighting the latter exposure to conclude the activities that the institution has developed presiding over this year to mark the centenary of its foundation last.

For its part, the history of the last hundred years is reflected in the sample which can be seen in the Graduate Institute Cascales and has been commissioned Pascual Vera, an official of the University of Murcia.

In her pictures and extensive documentation on the different venues of it, rectors have directed, qualifications that have joined year after year, among other topics taken up.

In his inauguration also they involved the director of the Institute, Antonio Miguel Pérez;

centenary coordinator, Professor Nicholas Jose Manuel Lopez, and the rector, Jose Orihuela.

This has been referred to the milestones recorded since the foundation in 1915 to, to get to the present, saying that "we do not want a university 'low cost', but a university that take time to think, reflect and absorb, to understand another, because science takes time. "

This second event was also attended by the director general of Universities, Luis Javier Lozano: the exrectores José Antonio Lozano Teruel and José Antonio Cobacho, and the Councillor for Education of the City of Murcia, Rafael Gomez, among other authorities.
