Tomorrow, Sunday October 4 begins the indefinite strike in the city buses of Murcia (03/10/2015)

At its meeting on 1 October in the ORCL (Office of Labour Disputes Resolution) company, Transportes de Murcia, impossible to reach an agreement that would have prevented the strike.

There was a real possibility of establishing a negotiating table, since workers were willing to postpone the strike beginning Sunday October 4, but the company, in consultation with the responsible of this matter in the council, flatly refused to defer the implementation of the new shift, which is precisely the reason for the strike.

On Sunday October 4 Indefinite Strike begins in city buses the city of Murcia, the Coloraos

The strike will take place every Sunday until they get to agree with the company on open shifts and some fellow sanctions are removed.

The strike was approved by a majority in the Assembly of Workers, is backed by the works council and trade unions USO, CGT and UGT, all with presence in the Works Council.

The reason for the strike is the inapplicable quadrant routes set for Sundays and holidays, which makes it impossible for drivers to make journeys in a very long time and that requires them to lead to excessively slow speeds.

The problem mainly affects the circular lines C1, C2 and C5, making a move in the downtown area.

The time set for these tours on a normal working day is 50 minutes on Sundays and holidays the time allotted is 60 minutes, ie 10 minutes.

10 more minutes to take a tour with far less traffic and fewer people using the bus as on Sundays and holidays the traffic volume and in number of users is lower than on weekdays.

The comply with the schedule imposed by the company involves circular excessively slow speeds and stop longer than necessary at stops, causing discomfort for passengers.

All this has created a situation of significant stress on drivers, since the problem is long and the only measure that the company adopted to correct the mistake was opening disciplinary records some drivers.

Following those records I was made aware of this situation Labour Inspectorate, reaching the agreement addressing the issue with the municipality and the social part, something that has not occurred.

The company, far from seeking an agreed solution between the parties decides, a couple of weeks, changing work shifts on Sundays and holidays unilaterally, without conducting the mandatory period of consultation with the social representation as established by the Workers' Statute.

This action being the straw that breaks the camel and caused the strike call.
