79,000 children and young people participate in educational programs of the City during this course (28/09/2015)

The Department of Education has developed an extensive and varied program of activities within the educational opportunities offered annually to schools in the municipality.

The purpose of the Network Participation Program is to promote among other actions that the Associations of Parents and AMPAS Federations to organize actions that affect cultural and leisure activities, as well as promote reading

According to the Councillor for Education, Rafael Gomez, "these programs aims to enhance schoolchildren residents in both urban and districts have the opportunity to meet their local environment and natural resources that the city offers"

These programs are offered to 186 schools in the municipality, of which 141 are public schools, 44 private subsidized and 1 (124 correspond to the districts and 62 urban), with a school population of 78,904 pupils of 3-18 years.

For this school year 2015/2016 are scheduled from 88 Education Service activities, 34.09% are hired and organized by the Service itself and 65.91% are partnerships with private entities and public institutions, as well as collaborations with other municipal services.

Among the activities that will be developed include storytelling, visits to museums in Santa Clara, Archaeology and Fine Arts, visit the Federation of Peñas vegetable garden, theater on Don Quixote and The House of Bernarda Alba, cinema, guided tour by the Cathedral, trip to Monteagudo Visitor Center ...
