The mayor of Los Ramos warns of the risk of flooding by the state of the boulevards (25/09/2015)

The elected village headman of Los Ramos, Santiago Meseguer Navarro, denounced the sorry state in which are the Ramblas Cemetery, Marzabalejo, Tabala and Peñeta that carry water from the mountains and drains serve to prevent flooding of the main streets of his village.

This situation has been denounced for a year, since the streams are full of reeds and rubbish, which makes very significantly the flow of water in rainy days.

The fear of the residents of Los Ramos increases at this time because of the danger of cold drop, as they know that the overflow of the same results in flooding of areas that people are not prepared to support large amounts of water.

In its complaint, Santiago Navarro accuses the Segura basin (CHS), responsible for maintaining the boulevards, passivity and neglect to fulfill their obligations body.

"The confederation has spent years without worrying about cleaning and maintenance of watercourses Cemetery, the Marzabalejo and Tabala, especially the Peñeta, which was diverted for the construction of buildings in the upper town and no one has bothered to reopening its normal course, "said village headman future.

Just last September 11, Santiago Navarro requested a meeting with the president of the Hydrographic Confederation of Segura, Miguel Angel Ródenas to inform and learn firsthand why the CHS does not meet its obligations for maintenance and cleaning Las Ramblas.

The result to date has been no answer.

This issue also made it clear the Association of Residents of Los Ramos, through a brief filed in the city of Murcia on December 15, 2014, warning of the need to address the cleaning of the people mentioned boulevards.

Santiago Navarro himself, through the Municipal Group PSOE, went to lodge a complaint on August 10 at the city of Murcia, asking the mayor to proceed to clean these, or failing the President of the CHS is directed and require immediate cleaning.

There are also several complaints from residents affected by the abandonment suffered by these places, because of the danger of flooding of homes and orchards.

The Ramos neighbors are collecting signatures to demand that is undertaken as quickly cleaning the said watercourses.

"The consequences which may have a possible flooding by overflowing of watercourses is the responsibility of the heads of the city of Murcia and the Confederation for its inhibition in this problem," concluded Navarro.
