Concludes the draft employability of graduates in Sports Science in collaboration with (22/09/2015)

The Faculty of Sports Science of the University of Murcia (UMU) in San Javier has welcomed this morning the last meeting of the project on the future of the Graduate Sports Science.

To close the event was attended by the Dean of the Faculty, Arturo Diaz Suarez;

Head of International Relations, Matias Balibrea;

Councillor for Education of the City of San Javier, Catalina Perez Jimenez;

Professor of Sports Science of the University of Gloucestershire, Diane Crone, the Director General and Deportivo El Pozo Murcia FS, Fran Serrejón, and project manager at the University of Murcia, Alfonso Valero.

El Pozo Murcia FS and the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports at the University of Murcia (UMU) were selected to lead in Spain a research project to improve the employability of graduates of this degree in Europe, within the call for projects "Lifelong Learning Programme" of the European Commission.

As conclusions this meeting have been determined:

-Increase Hours and quality of student practices in enterprises.

To know the labor market to adapt curricula and anticipate the demands of it.

Understand the company that will benefit from recruiting graduates in Sports Science because they provide quality service provided.

The project, led by Professor Alfonso Valero, in collaboration with other teachers at the school and the Faculty of Education, and as a partner and as an expert in the UMU employer, is also part of El Pozo Murcia FS coordinated by the Director General and Sports, Francisco Serrejón and with the close collaboration of the trainer Diego Villarejo.

In October 2013 he began the project has dealt with the study of the variables that affect the employability of students in these securities, to identify labor market demands in the professional sports sector in the various EU countries, describing professional skills that increase employability, and analyze the needs of academic convergence in this regard.

Participants

Among other higher education institutions and experts involved in the project are the Universities of Gloucestershire (UK), University of Göttingen (Germany), University of Strasbourg (France), University of Thessaly (Greece), University Palackeho Olomouc v (Republic Czech) and Cheltenham Borough Council (UK), consolidating the University of Murcia as a major partner of the European Network of Studies in Sports Science (EN3S).
