Campus Jeronimos open tomorrow Wednesday, September 23 the International Olive Oil Congress on 'Current trends and new challenges in the olive oil sector ", organized by the UCAM and the Seneca Foundation.
The olive sector is undergoing a transformation in recent years, which gives meaning to this conference which will be attended by scientists, business and industry leaders, who will discuss topics such as the cultivation and production of olive oil, its institutions and legislation aid, food quality and safety, consumption of this product and its effects on health or innovations within the sector.
In addition to lectures, the conference will host a workshop taught by gastronomy chef and professor of the Degree in Gastronomy of the UCAM, Pablo Gomez San Miguel.
The director general of the Food Industry, under the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Environment, Fernando J. Burgaz Moreno, will give the inaugural conference.
They will also participate in Jean Louis Barjol, Executive Director of the International Olive Oil Council, who will speak on production and international expansion;
Enrique Delgado Hidalgo, secretary general of Infaoliva, or Mauricio Garcia de Quevedo, director general of the Spanish Federation of Industries Food and Beverage, who will be responsible for closing the conference with his presentation.
