The Board of Governors approved the public participation process for the preparation of Murcia City Strategy '2020'.
The City has made an initial diagnosis to study the situation of the municipality of Murcia, identifying those needs that are considered priorities for improving the welfare of citizens and critical issues affecting the territory.
Thus, it has produced a working document which includes the strategic dimensions of the city, which will serve as a base document for the participatory process to define Murcia City Strategy '2020'.
The goal is to have the opinion of the residents of all the districts to develop lines of development of the municipality for the coming years.
To do this, a participatory process for the development and adoption of the Strategy city opens by 3-way.
The first one, through the Social Council of the City through 6 workshops in which the contributions of most representative sectors of the city are collected.
Social Council
The Social City Council is the principal organ of citizen participation in consultative status with members of trade unions, Regional Confederation of Business Organizations of Murcia, CROEM, trade associations, Chamber Trade, universities, professional associations, cultural associations, neighbors and major sporting federations.
Among its functions it is to issue reports and proposals and consultative optionally they are requested by the Municipal Corporation, in strategic city planning.
The target date for its convocation date is September 28, where members will be informed about the process of approval of a city strategy and invited to participate in its definition.
Sectoral work tables
During the first two weeks, once the process starts, six working groups will be set up with different themes, which aims to collect contributions from the city.
Officers 1 on 'Employment and Economic Development', including job creation and promotion of entrepreneurial life.
La Mesa 2 of 'Citizen Service and Administration Modernisation', provides governance, participation, political transparency and access to information.
'Urban Quality, Social Welfare and Sustainability', Table 3, which includes, among others, aspects of energy efficiency, sustainable mobility and improving the quality of life of citizens.
La Mesa 4 'Smarcities' includes intelligent and sustainable management of public services as well as implementation and revitalization of the Information Society,
La Mesa 5 of 'Spatial Planning and Infrastructure', responsible for the structuring of the municipality and the accessibility of the territory.
Finally, officers 6 on "Tourism, Culture, Heritage and Trade ', which includes the projection outside the city, tourism development and the recovery of commercial space.
The second of the ways of participation is articulated through a web platform for consultation, the proposals include allowing all citizens who want to be participants in the design of the city.
The latter route is carried out through the realization of 1,000 personal home surveys to a representative sample of residents in the municipality, which ensures reliable results of the population, particularly in 6 areas of action: Town, South Coast, North Belt, Traditional Huerta, Industrial Polo, Golf Murcia.
After obtaining the results of this process, the final document, which will be the strategy of the City, and will be approved by the Governing Board will be prepared.
