The president of the Community, Pedro Antonio Sanchez, today delivered the opening speech of Murcia 2015 Bullfighting Festival, held on the occasion of the Fair of September and with whom "is still writing the history of bullfighting in Murcia".

Pedro Antonio Sanchez said he "can not conceive of Murcia in September without an essential element of their festive spirit" as is the Bullfight, "that will give us the opportunity to witness the art to be displayed in the ring of the bullring of La condomina ".

He referred to the 128 years of the bullring and the origins of its construction, after eleven months of work, held its first celebration in 1887.

Also he toured the arenas of the region, farms, spigots and bullfighters.

During his opening speech, President of the Community also referred to Nicholas of Maya, as the author of the poster of the show that unites "painting and bullfighting" and collect the names of "the great masters called to follow in the footsteps of those who, Over the years, did the little walk in Murcia arena. "

He said that bullfighting is "common sense, art and culture", and stressed that the Region of Murcia "pioneered" to declare bullfighting in February 2011 as a Cultural Interest with immaterial.

He also recalled that in 2013 the Feast of the Bulls was declared Cultural Heritage of Spain and last May a law aimed at his statement as intangible cultural heritage was approved.

Finally, the regional chief executive referred to the bullfighters and who "represent the future of a hobby delivered and understood in our region."
