The School Building Programme launched by the City of Murcia, through the Department of Social Rights has welcomed 554 children from the municipality during the period 2014-2015, as adaptation measures specific to the maladjustment, absenteeism and school leavers.

This Plan, which involved 142 volunteers, of whom, 119 were college students and 23 non-university, dedicating their time to improve the lives of these children / as, favors the integration of children in situations of social vulnerability through social and educational activities aimed at learning processes and the involvement of families in the educational process of their children.

With this initiative, the firm commitment made by the City of Murcia to develop integrated actions to help families, guaranteeing both access to essential services for the future of children / as the municipality is demonstrated, as those related to the education and training.

Thus the fundamental objectives of this program are to support the child in achieving basic skills to improve their school performance, the implementation of learning techniques to progressively acquire greater autonomy in the study, developing social skills to improve the socio adaptation of children / as and adolescents and increased family involvement in the socio process of their children.

The head of the Department of Social Rights, Conchita Ruiz, said that "there is no better social policy than that which affects the specialized care in childhood and adolescence to prevent situations of vulnerability, risk of child poverty and social exclusion, to break the cycle of disadvantage. "

The tutoring is done in two ways:

With volunteers, mostly university, who have treated 190 children under municipality from November to May to June with an average of 2 hours per week and an average of 66 hours a lower along the course.

The total voluntary / os who participated was 142, of which 119 are university students and 23 non-university.

With specific in each of the Centers of Social Services, which has involved 354 children during the school year, with an average of two hours a week projects.
