Murcia's change complaint that the City intended to Terra Natura both budget and care for the elderly (24/08/2015)

Sergio Ramos, Councillor of Murcia's change seems "unacceptable has been established in the budgets required to subsidize public money with private activity such as Terra Natura".

The mayor recalled that this year the company has received more than three million euros repayable and that figure has been repeated for years.

The grant is awarded by the Department of Environment in respect of exploitation of parks.

The policy formation considered "very questionable" grant so much money for a private activity when this year devoted less than three million euros to care for the elderly.

That money could be destined to social policies or municipal conservation parks like the palm Zaraiche.

To change it, we must end as hiring practices by the council involving the transfer of public land and rigged to an annual grant.

"The land where the theme park was built were a municipal assignment, so the company did not have to pay for them," recalls Ramos.

In fact, if the 3,025,794 euros to Terra Natura in 2014 with 240,000 visitors that the company itself claims to have received this year, compared the City would have contributed 12.6 euros per person.

For the council, "it is unacceptable that in times of crisis such an astronomical amount of money used to finance a private activity that raises millions of euros to the price of admission", which costs between 25 and 17 euros, especially when in the last parliament a motion to revise the contract to be "totally unsustainable" was approved.

For Ramos "in a time of crisis does not make sense that such activities, due to the megalomania of earlier times are prioritized" and should "fund social, environmental and cultural policies."
