The Economic Council meets over 12,000 records registered by Murcia since its creation in 2007 (17/07/2015)

It consists of the former mayors Garcia Mendez Bódalo and three retired senior officials of the City. |

Traffic, closing times and urban planning issues have come together most of the 13,206 records submitted to the Economic-Administrative Council of Murcia since its creation in 2007, of which 12,052 have been resolved.

The body is designed to address complaints regarding municipal taxes and other revenue-fines, penalties, etc. in case of disagreement with the administrative decision.

The council is chaired by former comptroller of the City, Santos Ortiz, and as decision-making vocal Mariano Barreda has ex Head of Management Tributaria- and Antonio Plaza - former Chief of Police Local- as advisory members and former mayors City Clemente Garcia and Jose Antonio Mendez Bódalo.

They, along with the Councillor of Finance and Employment, Eduardo Martínez-Oliva, and the secretary, Roque Moya, met this morning with the Mayor, José Ballesta, and presented the activity report of the council.

It follows that the Murcia come especially to this organ to file claims related to road safety expedientes- 5064, -3.846- closing times, the pressure of sanctions enforcement in traffic, urbanism -894.

For the years of full activity (between 2008 and 2014), the largest number of registered records was 2009 2,552 2010 2,320 procedures and, similar to 2011 -2.252-.

Since then there has been a decline in the number of requests: 2,046 in 2012, 1,535 in 2013 and 1,595 in 2014. In the first six months of 2015 registered the entry of 664 claims.

Subject challenged, complaints closing times increased in 2012, over one thousand, while last year they were only 300. If in 2009 for road safety records were almost 1,900 two years were around 1,000 and in 2013 and 2014 were 264 and 227 respectively.

In 2015 there have been 73.

The council further administrative appeal before the submission of the dispute.

Its creation is part under the Law on Measures for the Modernization of Local Government, whose objectives include changing municipal life to improve services provided to citizens.

The aim of the standard is to modernize local government to improve the government and at the same time, encourage and promote citizen participation in the management of municipal affairs, promoting improved quality of services and enhancing the proximity to neighbors .
