The Governing Council of the University of Murcia today approved the actions in the field of teaching and research staff (PDI) and Administration and Services (PAS) proposed by the team chaired by the rector, Jose Orihuela.

The Vice Chancellor for Coordination and Internationalisation, Bernardo Cascales, explained that a proposal is consistent performances, in part, with a few aspects of the electoral program and the current difficult economic situation.

Cascales has said that due to the expenditure ceiling set by the Autonomous Community, has only 0.3 percent of the budget of the University of Murcia to undertake these actions, amount which will join another 0.11 percent from savings achieved in other actions.

As regards the PAS, the philosophy of the proposal envisages the extension of the Interim reduced hours, offers a minimum of internal promotion and addresses urgent needs or resulting legal imperative.

Regarding the PDI, structural changes, as associate professors and assistant professors commitment to implement replacement rates which did not come as soon as ejecutando- get greater budgetary availability, among other actions are included.

On these issues have been widely reported by the rector himself, the Vice Chancellor for Teaching, Jose Angel Lopez, and manager Francisco Perez Guzman.
