The Civil Guard detects irregular tenure fifty animals in a corral domestic Murcia (01/06/2015)

The Civil Guard in the region of Murcia has developed the operation 'SKUNK', an investigation to determine the legality of a domestic poultry, in which a resident of the hamlet of Murcia Beniscornia corner fifty animals housed, which has resulted in the eviction five dogs, a porcupine and Koati, and the handling of complaints related offenses in these areas.

The investigation began when the Civil Guard, and in 2011 and thanks to the cooperation of citizens, learned of the existence of a large number of animals of different species in a particular farm in the hamlet of Murcia Beniscornia corner.

At that time, troops from SEPRONA inspected the premises adjoining land to housing, where they found fifty species of horses, dogs one of potentially dangerous breeds, goats and birds, among others.

Moreover, some of them are listed as invasive, such as raccoons, skunks and others as protected species like a porcupine and Koati species.

The tenure of this number of animals and the uniqueness of one of them, in addition to sanitary and conditioning their habitats, obtaining appropriate licenses and specific regional municipal authorizations required.

In view of the irregularities, SEPRONA Civil Guard brought to the attention of the competent authorities the various irregularities, and alerted the holder of the need to obtain the necessary permits to house these animals on the premises of your property.

This process, initiated in 2011, has turned earlier this month by the Administrative Court No. 3 of Murcia, with an eviction of any of the animals, limiting the number and type of species that can remain on the grounds provided by the owner, the corresponding authorizations are obtained.

Collaboration with the city of Murcia

SEPRONA, in collaboration with the services of zoonoses the City of Murcia, has inspected the property than they have been evicted five dogs, a porcupine and Koati.

The tenure of the remaining animals found peacocks, horses, skunks and raccoons remain at the expense of obtaining the necessary authorizations from the owner.

Tenure, without a license of activity, domestic poultry or a collection of exotic animals for particular poses a serious violation of Law 4/2009 of May 14, Integrated Environmental Protection, with penalties ranging between 1,001 and 10,000 euros.

Regarding the holding of the porcupine and Koati, it would be an administrative alleged infringement of smuggling, for which penalties ranging from 1,001 euros for the classified as mild, from 1,000 to 12,000 euros for serious and exceed establishes 12,000 euros and 50,000 euros less than in the case of very serious.
