The City Council promotes its efforts to raise awareness about the World Environment Day (28/05/2015)

Murcia City Council continues to push its efforts to raise awareness about the environment care and day celebrates World Environment Day with various activities under the motto "Live your garden".

The Department of Environment, headed by Maria del Carmen Pelegrin, has installed an information booth in the Plaza de Santo Domingo until June 5 to unveil the goal of municipal information campaign, which is to raise awareness about Murcia the importance of environmental protection, and the role of green spaces in urban environments.

Friday morning, after 18 hours, a tasting of organic products will be made, for which it has enjoyed the cooperation of "Zagaleco, organic food" and on Monday, June 1 at the same time will be held in the house one workshop on how to make green potted recycling material, with gift of a plant to participants.

The 3rd, 4th and 5th of June workshops activities continue in the afternoon.

The celebration of World Environment Day, promoted by UNESCO, is commemorated around the world since 1973, in honor of the first United Nations Conference on Environment of June 5, 1972 in Stockholm.

In addition to planned activities, those who come to the house you can see the winning posters in the school competition on World Environment Day promoted by the City, or participate in "The Garden of Ideas", the recreation of a small garden with figures of recycled cardboard where people who want hang with post-it suggestions and proposals for improving the green areas of the municipality.

The information booth is part of the Program for Environmental Information and Sensitization of the Department of Environment.
