Serna (UPyD) takes up the challenge of achieving a balance between town and districts of Murcia (14/05/2015)

Ruben Juan Serna, candidate of Union Progress and Democracy for mayor of the city of Murcia, said that "we intend the shortfall between the town and the various districts."

According to Serna, "one of the great challenges that we face policy makers in Murcia is the geographical dispersion of the different districts that make up the city, and inequality between the town and these locations".

Serna points out that the city receives major investments in transport and infrastructure, "so it is necessary to work towards a more balanced and uniform municipality."

The candidate for mayor of Murcia Consistory makes these statements in the path you have made for the shops in the towns of Campo de Murcia in the campaign # 15días54pedanías, among which include Corvera, La Murta, Martinez del Puerto, Lobosillo, Bathrooms and Beggar, Gea and Truyols, Avileses and Sucina.

Currently, the municipality of Murcia has almost 440 000 inhabitants, of which 267 000 of them, 60 percent, live in the districts, and the remaining 40 percent, 173 000, do it in the city.

"Urge provide a solution to situations such as poor or nearly nonexistent public transportation as their location precisely these populations are most in need of a good connection to the city center and between them."

Likewise, "we want to develop a mechanism to allow direct election of village headman and presidents of Boards by neighbors" and "changing the regulations for greater control and transparency when making spending decisions and investments in villages. "

"The headman should be the representative of the neighbors and accountable to them too, and not just be the representative of the Mayor of Murcia," says Serna.
