Boost Reading Clubs municipal (11/05/2015)

The Department of Education, who heads Maria Dolores Sanchez, is committed to promoting reading to promote reading clubs, which are held in twelve municipal libraries.

Reading Clubs are groups of people who read a book at the same time, each home, and meet once a month to discuss the selected book guided by a moderator.

In the meetings we debate on literary style, action, characters, plot, literary techniques used, etc.

The great acceptance that have clubs, where about 500 people participate each year, is due to meet two attractions: the personal, intimate reading and reading ability to share this with others, enriching the reading experience.

The choice of book titles arising from the proposals among readers, librarians and moderators, seeking to include various genres (novels, poetry, comics, short story, etc.) and both classic and contemporary writers as national and international literature.

The books are provided by the Municipal Network of Libraries and the Regional Library of Murcia.

The event is free for participants and places are limited.

Those interested in this activity should be directed to any of the libraries where this activity takes place.

There are now clubs in libraries Reading: The José Saramago Sangonera Carmen, Author, Rio Segura, San Basilio, Beniaján, Cabeza de Torres, Pelagio Ferrer of El Palmar, Javalí Nuevo, La Alberca, La Nora, and Bacons Bridge Green.

The investment of the Department of Education in this activity is of more than 14,000 euros.
