The University of Murcia exceeds 47,000 followers on the social network Twitter (08/05/2015)

The University of Murcia has surpassed the 47,150 followers on the social network Twitter, which is placed in the top positions of the Spanish universities, ahead of the Complutense de Madrid.

This data has been exposed by the manager Onesimo Hernandez social networks during his speech at the conference that the University Association of Cabinets of Communication (AUGAC) held these days at the University of Murcia, organized by this institution within the centenary activities.

Hernandez added that that figure is increasing in recent months and that the University of Murcia is considered the first in terms of global influence.

In the first session of the Conference it has also intervened in Linkedin forming Marisa Pico, who has emphasized the role that the network can play in the university environment and research.

The meeting also aspects such as communication challenges and opportunities for universities and press offices and intellectual property, among other matters occupy.

The program also includes a panel discussion which will involve, among others, Delfina Rock, Unit Scientific Culture at the University of Murcia;

Jose Manuel Lopez Nicholas, professor of this institution and manager of the blog "Scientia";

Jose Santiago Garcia, a doctoral student, and Paul Muniz, journalist.

The opening ceremony, held at the building of convalescence, was attended by the rector of Communication and Culture, Jose Antonio Gomez;

AUGAC president, Jose Merino, of the University of Salamanca, and Ana Martin, of the University of Murcia.
