The rector of the University of Murcia, José Orihuela, today expressed his concern and unease about the tense situation that exists at the time of the experiments by students of Medicine to coincide with public hospitals University Catholic San Antonio.
Orihuela has made these statements to the Governing Council of the institution he presides, which has continued today with the regular meeting began on Thursday.
The rector said that "it's starting to be a collision with our students, a situation that results from the application of legislation that we have appealed to the courts."
He also expressed his "full support" to the Heads of Service of the Reina Sofia and Morales Meseguer of Murcia, who yesterday did not allow practices to students of private university until the situation is clarified hospitals.
Orihuela has concluded that "the problem can only be solved from the understanding and good manners, which is what is not being done."
Moreover, the Governing Council has known a report by the rector of Coordination and Internationalisation, Bernardo Cascales, who announced the celebration, next week, a few international conference on the centenary of the University of Murcia, with the participation of a half of Spaniards and foreigners, mayors of the Region of Murcia and other governing.
Among the participants, it is Luis Delgado, with whom, said the campus of Excellence began.
He has also stated that, as a result of the agreement signed last December with the Carolina Foundation, the University of Murcia will have one of 25 doctoral scholarships granted to Spain and four scholarships for short stays.
Finally, he commented that the Conference of the International Observatory of the Smart Card, who lead the University of Murcia and Banco Santander, held in Chile, "has shown that our institution is the world leader in the field".
