Gras social clause applies to businesses that contract with the City (30/04/2015)

The socialist candidate for mayor of Murcia has announced, after a meeting with the management team of Caritas at its headquarters today that the Consistory will prevail in their contracts to companies that hire people at risk of social exclusion

Gras recognizes the work, effort and commitment of organizations like Caritas to recover the dignity of the disadvantaged "because of an unjust system that has led us to a sick society"

The PSOE's candidate for mayor of Murcia, José Ignacio Gras, visited the headquarters of Caritas where he held a meeting with the management team and announced that a social clause applies to businesses that contract with the City.

"Primaremos companies that hire people at risk of exclusion because it is another way of curbing the alarming levels of poverty and deprivation that are holding many people in Murcia because of an unjust economic system that has led us to a sick society" , said Gras.

The socialist candidate has insisted that one of the basic pillars of its project "A friendly Murcia" is the fight against poverty and social exclusion in the city, especially considering the "chilling" data provided today by Caritas to 34 % of the population in Murcia are at risk of exclusion.

Also, Gras recalled another of his proposals already announced, which will allocate 0.7% of the municipal budget to those nonprofit organizations fighting social exclusion because "the data are shameful and we must adopt a permanent commitment that we allowed to work side by side and provide solutions. "

So he has returned to reaffirm their commitment to support the Covenant Against Poverty proposed by the Network for Combating poverty and social exclusion in the Region of Murcia (EAPN-RM) after the holding of elections, regardless of the results electoral and political differences.

A great social pact, also in the opinion of the directors of Caritas, is essential to meet a tough situation that, together, we must try to go disappearing.

Paraphrasing Cicero, Socialist candidate has completed stating that "a city that has poverty should embarrass their leaders and I want the out shamelessly in Murcia, so we will work in coordination to at least alleviate it."
