Ballesta announces the recovery site of St. Stephen and the old jail in the first six months (23/04/2015)

The candidate for mayor of Murcia by the Popular Party, José Ballesta, has today revealed its intention to "restore the archaeological site of San Esteban and the Old Jail in the first six months of term if I'm elected mayor on 24 of may ".

Ballesta, who made the announcement during the reading of Don Quixote, on the occasion of World Book Day in the Plaza de Santo Domingo, said that "we convert these two spaces in cultural, economic and tourist references of the new Murcia we want build ".

In this regard, he added that to this end, "the consensus among the groups involved and will be sought both the expert opinion of the University as with neighbors, getting agreement among professionals and citizens."

"San Esteban and the Old Jail stressed crossbow must become benchmarks of this cultural recovery of the city of Murcia. Our goal is to return these two spaces to Murcia and do it from the maximum to the preservation of our heritage with respect."

Finally, he indicated that these two spaces, "heritage of all Murcia, are two priorities in my city project, although in our manifesto will collect a comprehensive proposal on cultural matters".
