A project to reduce energy consumption of housing triumphs in the I HackForGood Murcia (21/04/2015)

Make life easier and facilitate access of citizens to new technologies has been the great challenge of a group of students that has seen in technology the ability to meet major social needs.

Under this premise, scores of university students gathered for three days at the Catholic University of Murcia, under the I HackForGood Murcia.

This is a marathon application development, ideas or services that help solve social problems and make cities smarter.

Four projects reached the final of this great event with new technologies and mobile devices, where the proposal "ADA" smart electrical panel aims to reduce and make energy consumption more efficient housing was imposed.

The proponents of this project through a demo showed that this type of electrical switchboard to manage domestic energy consumption, thus achieving greater savings in facilities, keeping them secure and better connected.

The award carries a financial amount of 1,000 euros and the chance to compete with winners in other Spanish provinces.

This same project also won the prize for Telefónica Think Big, allowing the members of this course receive specialized training and development of this application attention.

The second prize of 600 euros, was for the project "SmartHackers" a system that seeks to improve mobility in cities.

To do this, the drivers of the same plan different solutions to understand and control through the sensing humidity, temperature, access and lighting, among other things, to make this possible.

The winning team of the third prize of 400 euros in cash, presented in this technological forum "UrbanLobby" project, an application that seeks to foster relationships between citizens and the administration, with the ultimate aim of achieving redress for any damage to public roads.

The challenge of the proposal is simply to create a mobile app that allows communication of such incidents in real time.

To do this, citizens can photograph and make a part from the very place where the damage is located and notice for improvement.
