We will promote a Municipal Plan for the integration
The PSOE candidate for mayor of Murcia, José Ignacio Gras, participated this morning in a meeting convened by the Ecuadorian movement Alianza País, in the hamlet of Los Dolores.
It has been accompanied by several members of the socialist municipal candidates, including Carlos Soto, leader of the Ecuadorian community.
In the course of the meeting noted that "the immigrant population in our town is an element of richness in diversity and economic development, which requires their integration into society is a cornerstone of our policies."
He stressed that the first requirement will restore health care to immigrants, turning right again this universal and free, as has been done in those Autonomous Communities with socialist governments.
In this regard, he recalled that this discriminatory measure health card has left more than 50,000 people in the region.
Another priority for the Socialist candidate is the need to promote a Municipal Plan for the integration of immigrants, whose production should involve social organizations and municipal associations working in this field, so that together define social measures, economic, labor and specific cultural favoring coexistence among neighboring any point in the municipality.
In his opinion, "it is necessary to develop programs in values ​​education, having premised on equality, diversity and cultural richness" and stressed "the importance of this training into schools".
In this area, believes that we must pay special attention to reducing school segregation and concentration of students, provide training to teachers in managing diversity, and support to schools to integrate with human resources and necessary materials.
Gras has also placed emphasis on the need to develop a comprehensive plan of neighborhoods to areas of high presence of immigrant population.
He recalled that under the Regional Housing Act prepared by the PSOE housing rehabilitation, improving the environment and public services in districts of the municipality of Murcia is expected badly damaged.
Law also provides for the creation of a Public Park Homes intended for poor families rented and / or purchase.
To Gras, these are just some of the measures that promote the PSOE is to ensure equal treatment and the creation of spaces of coexistence between all neighbors who live and work in the town of Murcia.
