This morning was held in the UCAM Cartagena Campus Universitario the second day of the International Congress of Trail Running and Adventure Raids 'Route Strengths'.
The sports psychologist Patricia Ramirez, a professor at the University of Sevilla working with teams and athletes, gave a lecture titled 'So you lead and compete'.
During his speech, stressed the importance of controlling emotions and predisposing the athlete when facing challenges.
Addressing more than a hundred students, the psychologist has stressed that the key is to "train the brain to react to different psychological variables that we can find."
He also stressed the figure of the coach in achieving his players always think positive and know resolve any situation encountered during the competition.
In that sense, it has become clear example with two players of Barcelona and the Spanish national team, to understand that speed when making decisions is key: "We value both Xavi and Iniesta because anticipate the circumstances."
Then held a roundtable to address the experiences of endurance runners themselves.
Participated José Ríos, Olympian marathon and national coach line, Andres Lledo, participant 4Desert 2014, and Francisco Costoya, world champion raids.
Antonio Sánchez Pato, dean of the Faculty of Sport;
Juan Alfonso García, academic director of the Campus of Cartagena;
Rafael Roldan, colonel of the Spanish Armada;
and Carolina Palazón, Councillor for Tourism of the City of Cartagena, have closed the conference and have been very pleased with the development of them.
Antonio Sánchez Pato has been worth the work done in these two days and the importance that is becoming the UCAM as regards sport, not to mention the fact that the Campus of Cartagena has hosted its first major conference, to show that it is already fully operational in its first academic year.
