The City closes 2014 with a budget result of nearly 43 million euros and a surplus of 8.8 million (31/03/2015)

The City ended 2014 with a budget result of nearly 43 million euros and a surplus of 8.8 million.

This emerges from the liquidation of the budget presented today by the Mayor, Miguel Angel House, accompanied by the Councillor of Finance, Isabel Martinez Conesa, which also indicates that the remaining cash for general expenses by 21.62 million of euros.

2014 closed with a decline in current spending of 3.5% (which has reached a level of 90%) and an increase in investment of 21% compared to 2013. It has also been obtained cheaper financing in financial markets, which has produced savings in interest payments of 6.37% over the previous year.

For the second year, the level of implementation of investments has been increased, this time by 21%.

It has also been an increase in economic activity of the municipality, reflected in a rise of 44% on income from capital gains and the construction due to the greater number of licenses.

The December 31, 2014, the City of Murcia ended the year with a financial long-term debt 178 120 000 euros, almost 14 less than in the previous year.

This amount will be reduced by nearly 9 million after approval of the settlement of the budget.

In addition, over 2013 loans taken in previous years were replaced at a cost of more advantageous financing, which will result in savings for municipal coffers 6 million euros.

Murcia City Council, chaired by the Mayor, Miguel Angel House, has opted for good governance, for the implementation of eGovernment in managing both revenue and expenditure, and transparency (100 out of 100 on the index economic transparency).

All these measures have had a direct impact on the achievement of the objective of budgetary stability, the rule of spending limits -located debt at 54% of current revenue at the end of 2014, well below limits set by the Law-, and the drastic reduction of the average period of payment to suppliers.

Nearly four years later, confirming that has been followed to the letter sheet planned route and has improved services to Murcia, less taxes and more investment.

The City of Murcia has done well accounts for the fourth year;

and has managed to achieve the goal of stability, a more modern, orderly and transparent administration.
